Marine Corps Installation West’s commanding general, Brig. Gen. Jason Woodworth, said about the grant and its use:
“The construction of this fire station enhances the longstanding fire and emergency services partnership we enjoy with the city of Oceanside. We regularly support one another and this allows for more robust capabilities which directly increases our combined coverage and decreases response time.”
General Woodworth went on to say that the awarding of the grant to Oceanside was a boon for the city’s residents, as well as the Camp Pendleton community.
