As part of efforts to better fund a variety of library initiatives, the Oceanside Public Library will start June by soliciting Books, DVDs, and other Forms of gently used media from community members.
This offsite opportunity will allow Oceanside community members to offload their Books to a good cause and also make a tax deductible donation.
According to library officials, Books and other media will either be put into library circulation or sold to outside vendors. The money will then be reinvested in the community and library. Officials have said the library will use any funds to buy more Books, DVDs, or other media, as well as to enhance programming, offer technology resources, and continue community outreach efforts. These efforts include mini-libraries, home deliveries, and bookmobiles.
While donating Books, individuals and families are encouraged to learn more about the various programs the library has to offer, pick up Promotional Products about the library, and discuss any questions or concerns about with staff.
This event is being run by the Friends of the Library group, which supports the library’s efforts and encourages locals to use their library facilities. It will take place on Saturday, June 1, and runs from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Attendees should be aware that it will not take place at the library, but at 169 Roymar Road, Oceanside.
