New wellness center opens in Oceanside

San Diego County recently opened the North Coastal Live Well Health Center in Oceanside. The center will offer recovery services and behavioral health treatment to veterans and military members.

There are three mental health programs available at the center, each separate from the others. At the North Coastal Mental Health Clinic, those over 18 years of age, who have serious mental illnesses, will be able to access case management, counseling, and employment services. They will also be able to get assistance in managing any mental health medications they may take.

At the Mariposa Clubhouse, adults with serious mental illnesses will receive member-driven vocational, recovery, rehabilitative, and social services.

Finally, the North Coastal Regional Recovery Center provides treatment for substance use and disorder on an outpatient basis. Mental Health Systems, Inc., operates the Mental Health Clinic and the Mariposa Clubhouse, while the McAlister Institute operates the Recovery Center. Facilities like this can use brochure printing to describe their services in detail.

In addition to mental health care, the center offers a Military and Veterans Resource Center where veterans can find out about benefits due them, and resources they can access. These include disability claims, benefits counseling, assistance transitioning from the military to civilian live, and educational benefits, among others. The Resource Center plans to host a number of local organizations that help both veterans and those still on active duty.
