Puerto Rican vocalist coming to Long Beach
His YouTube performance has been enjoyed over 640 million times, and now Long Beach residents will be able to hear him in person.
The Sevilla Nightclub of Long Beach will be the place to be when Baila Reggaeton y Mas (Fridays) presents Alex Rose. Rose is a Puerto Rican artist whose song “Toda (Remix)” is a massive YouTube hit. Rose is also the creative force behind the songs “Almighty,” “Dejate Llevar,” and “Darte.” In 2018, he released “Sexflix,” an EP, that shows the way in which Latin music has changed trap, and is now influencing R&B.
On “Sexflix,” Rose used melodies borrowed from R&B songs like “One Wish” by Ray J and “Let Me Love You” by Mario, but then tweaked the material, changing the drum patterns and singing lyrics he wrote, in Spanish. The mash-up is something entirely new, and “Darte” has been viewed millions of times on YouTube. Rose and other artists are more than entertainers; they are leading a movement that is changing music, starting in Latin America and gaining traction throughout the world.
Rose will appear December 1 at 9.00 pm, with the show scheduled to last until 2.00 am the following day. This performance has been rescheduled from an earlier date. The Sevilla Nightclub is on Pine Avenue, and enforces a dress code. The show is for those 21 and over only, and poster printing can be used to advertise events like this.
