What's Happening in Long Beach, CA…

New apartment complex to rise in Central Long Beach

A new apartment development will transform a parking lot into a housing complex.

A seven-story apartment complex is planned for a space now occupied by a Locust Avenue parking lot. The aptly-named Locust Long Beach Apartments, which will comprise 97 apartments, is one of nine such projects that have been approved or proposed in recent years. These developments lie in the area bounded on the east and west by Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Avenue, and on the south and north by 10th Street and Pacific Coast Highway.

The building's design calls for it to be finished in gray, with yellow accents. It will be built with glass, stucco, and textured board concrete, and will feature large windows, window and door frames of brushed aluminum, and metal awnings. It has been deliberately designed by Shahab Ghods, the architect, to fit in with other structures in the neighborhood.

The complex will be entirely residential, unlike some other developments in the area. There will be six studios on the first floor, while the other floors will offer a mix of units: studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and lofts. There will be balconies attached to 50 of the apartments, with units averaging 773 square feet.

A landscaped courtyard, spa, pool, recreation room, and gym will be located on the third floor. It is expected that ground will be broken for the complex in the next few months. Brochure printing can be used to create pamphlets illustrating the amenities of projects like this.
