Nature walk planned for Long Beach area
A Long Beach area wetlands that is an important refuge for raptors will soon be visited by a group of visitors, and those interested in birding are welcome to add their names to the list.
The location will be the venue for a walk that explores the wetlands and provides a glimpse into the role they play in the area’s ecosystem. It will be led by a facilitator who is knowledgeable about the plant and animal species found at the location, and the activity is free.
The walk will open with some remarks about wetlands, after which the group will depart. They will be on the lookout for raptors and other birds, and they will explore the salt flats and coastal sage scrub. Everyone is advised to bring binoculars if they have any. Close-toed shoes are mandatory, and the group will need to stay together.
A guided walk provides an opportunity for the public to get out and enjoy nature in person. A poster printing company can prepare materials that let the public know about events on offer in their home area
This guided visit to a Long Beach area greenspace will be on offer on Saturday, May 4. Those who register will meet up at the driveway parking area at the corner of PVH and 1 Street in Seal Beach.
