What's Happening in Long Beach, CA…

Long Beach well prepared for Pirate Invasion

The Pirate Invasion of Belmont Pier and Mermaid Festival will come to Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier in June.

Claiming to be the largest gathering of

pirates, buccaneers, scallywags and freebooters, the event promises to offer great fun in Long Beach this summer.

Included in the festivities will be live theatre, as well as music from Dublin Pirate. The pirate market will offer rare and unique treasures. Vendors typically use banner printing services from local print companies to draw attention to their names and products at this sort of event.

Theatrical productions of grand battles, complete with cannon and muskets, will take place twice a day. The pirate village will be alive with hundreds of scallywags and wenches in full costume.

Children of all ages will enjoy watching pirate battles, sword fights, pirate ships on the pier, and other theatrical dramatizations. There will be a kids’ costume contest, as well as craft booths. Belly and fire dancers will light up the night with fun and color.

A treasure hunt on the beach will keep everyone moving, while food, rum, and grog can be enjoyed along the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier.

The Pirate Invasion of Belmont Pier and Mermaid Festival will take place June 28 and 29, starting at 10:00 am. Parking will be available between Belmont Plaza Pool and the Belmont, which is on the eastside of the pool.
