Long Beach to celebrate Latin American culture

Long Beach’s International Tamales Festival will come to the city next month. Locals are welcome to join and celebrate Latin American culture together.

Tamale is a popular dish eaten in different parts of Latin America. The dish usually consists of a doughy exterior filled with seasoned meat, vegetables, and fruits. It is also cooked in a banana leaf and served hot. The leaf is typically removed once the dish is ready, but it can also be used as plating.

The festival will work in collaboration with Roxanne’s Bar and Grill. Together, they will serve tamales along with other Latin American foods and drinks. The event will also have other activities to immerse guests into Latin American culture. There will be art workshops, performances, and live music available. Participants can also bring their own tamales for a chance to win a homemade tamales contest.

Organizers are also looking for sponsors to help support the festival. For opportunities like this, Business Cards can help with exchanges between organizers and potential sponsors.

The Tamales Festival will happen on December 5 between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM. It will happen at the Scottish Rite Event Center located at 855 Elm Avenue. Entry to the festival will be $25 for general admission. There are also VIP options that give access to premium tequila tasting, VIP seating, and reserved seating.
