Houseplants can add a touch of life and warmth to a room, and the newbie plant parents who take part in a Long Beach make-and-take will be able to bring a new green friend home with them.
Taking place later this month, Plantitas will be the venue for Wine and Roots, which will be an activity that combines a lesson in home horticulture with some wine sipping. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be on tap as well.
When they arrive for the class, attendees will be able to choose a glass of red, white, or sparkling wine or beer, supplied by Art du Vin. After this, they can take their seats for the class. They will be walked through the process of repotting a plant, and they will also learn how to care for it so it will keep on looking great. The materials, including the pot, will be supplied. Discounted bottles of wine will also be available for purchase to take home.
A crafting class or other creative workshop may benefit from being marketed to both its target audience and the general public. A flyer printing company will be happy to help with this.
This introduction to the joys of houseplants is taking place on Wednesday, July 26. It will be offered at 2011 East 4th Street in Long Beach.
