Long Beach folks prepare for New Year update
The Long Beach State of the City reception will be taking place this month.
This will be the 2nd annual address by Mayor Robert Garcia, and it will update residents on what they can expect for 2016. It will also likely discuss the past year and any successes or areas for improvement.
The event will start off with a reception with refreshments and food provided by several food trucks. Guests can also enjoy games after the address and have their photographs taken with city officials or friends and family.
As a response to the official State of the City, the People's State of the City is planned for February 25. No doubt this will discuss the official address and make alternate suggestions. It is hosted by Long Beach Rising.
Both events are free of charge and may be advertised with products purchased from Long Beach stationery printers such as booklets and flyers.
The Long Beach State of the City will be held at the Terrace Theater at Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center on January 12 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Admission is free, but those planning on attending must RSVP on the Eventbrite website.
The People's State of the City will take place at Franklin Middle School on February 25 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Call 562-436-4800 to learn more.
