What's Happening in Long Beach, CA…

Long Beach area asked to support local food drive

A Long Beach non-profit is hoping residents will dig deep in their support of one of its efforts.

Food Finders is a not-for-profit group that works to tackle food insecurity. The group is running a food drive throughout the holiday season, and it kicked off on the 1st of October. The group says each donation will help to fill someone’s plate and belly, and both monetary contributions and gifts in kind will be welcome.

The group will be serving the needs of underprivileged people in Southern California, and both non-perishable foodstuff and toiletries are in high demand. It was explained that it partners with an assortment of not-for-profit agencies to make sure the food reaches the people, and the monies raised will help to fund the purchase of holiday turkeys and other items.

To help maximize the contributions, Food Finders has encouraged businesses, schools, and neighborhoods to run a food donation drive. A poster printing company’s graphic design team can craft materials increasing public awareness about a particular activity.

This opportunity to spread some holiday cheer to those in need will run from October 1st to December 31st. The Food Finders website offers additional details, as well as a quick link for anyone who would like to make a monetary donation. A collection station will be set up at 10539 Humbolt Street in Los Alamitos.
