A popular festival is returning to Long Beach.
For three days, the 33rd Annual Long Beach Jazz will take place in the city's beautiful Rainbow Lagoon Park, with view of both the lagoon and the Pacific Ocean.
This year, the theme of the festival is “A Healthy Taste of Jazz,” and will bring wellness, health, and jazz together, with world-renowned musicians, leaders and speakers who are wellness experts in attendance. Vendors and treatment centers will be available, and there will be samples of healthy foods in Marina Green Park.
Although the list of performers is not final, two artists are already confirmed: Gerald Albright, and Sergio Mendes. Albright is a jazz saxophonist who released his first-ever Christmas album, “Not So Silent Night,” in 2019.
Sergio Mendes is a Brazilian musician with more than 55 releases to his credit. He first rose to fame in the United States with his group, Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66, and has been nominated for, and won, both the Grammy and the Latin Grammy. In 2012, he was nominated for an Oscar for the song “Real in Rio,” for the film “Rio.”
Festival organizers want attendees to be comfortable, and are allowing many items while prohibiting others. A list can be found on the organizer's website. Service animals are permitted.
The festival dates are August 14, 15, and 16, with the fun kicking off at 6.00 pm on the 14th. Flyer printing can provide handouts for events like this.
