What's Happening in Long Beach, CA…

Horror convention scheduled for Long Beach

Horror lovers who don't want to wait until October to enjoy being frightened should plan to visit Long Beach this summer.

The Long Beach Convention Center will be the site of the Midsummer Scream Halloween and Horror Convention 2021. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 event was canceled, and plans are still being finalized for this year's convention. However, looking back at past gatherings can provide some glimpses of what visitors might expect this year.

Among the attractions expected to return is the Hall of Shadows. Covering 80,000 square feet, the darkened area features monsters, fog, and other spooky attractions. There will also be live entertainment, and some exhibitors who have chosen to set up their booths inside the shadowy space.

Another popular feature that should be back is Horror Buzz's Screaming Room, a venue used to screen short horror films. In the past, film festival organizers have received as many as 150 entries, totaling almost 17 hours of screen time, which had to be cut down to just 50.

There will also be appearances by celebrities as well as vendors with fun and frightening goods of all kinds. Past stars who have attended include Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark; plus actors, directors, voice talent, and more.

The convention is a three-day event, and is scheduled for July 9, 10, and 11, 2021. Flyer printing can be used to create schedules to hand out to attendees at events like this.
