Festival welcomes back local band among others
The Folk Revival Festival is taking place in Long Beach this month.
The festival will feature some of the best-known performers of folk, roots, Americana, and bluegrass music. The headliner for this year’s festival will be the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary and were formed in Long Beach. Other performers will include The White Buffalo, Chuck Ragan, and the Smoggy Mountain String Band.
Music will not be the only attraction, however; there will also be a kids’ area with crafts, music and an instrument petting zoo, food and beer for purchase, and several contests. Some of the competitions will include a pie-eating event, a beard and mustache competition, and a Deering banjo contest. There is also set to be an open bluegrass jam.
Vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of handmade merchandise, including jewelry, artworks, and music-related items.
Many of the participating vendors may decide to decorate their booths to attract more visitors. This may include investing in sign or banner printing services from a local print company.
The Folk Revival Festival will be held at Rainbow Lagoon Park on September 17 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Tickets are $40 for those between the ages of 13 and 74. VIP tickets are also available for $75; they are for those aged 21 and over and include preferred seating, a separate bar, and private restrooms. Visit the event website to learn more.
