The Long Beach Sand Sculpture Art and Music Festival is taking place for two days next month. Presented by the Port of Long Beach and Alfredo's Beach Club, the event is part of the city's ‘Summer Beach Party’ series.
The festival is set to feature plenty of sculptures by professional sand sculptors, and this year they will also be lit up for evening viewing. There will also be an amateur contest, which is open to all. Participants must bring all of their own supplies.
Other than the sand sculptures, there will be a food court and vendors will be selling arts and crafts and other merchandise. Musical entertainment over the two days will be provided by artists such as The Originalites, Ease Up, Johnny Love, and DJ Quest 9. A kids’ zone will have giant slides, a climbing wall, a parachute drop, and hamster balls. Children will also be able to build their own sand structures.
