Buskerfest is being held next month in Long Beach, and is the final performance of the Summer and Music concert series held once monthly in the downtown area.
A presentation of Downtown Long Beach Associates, the festival is set to feature musical acts performing on four stages set up on flatbed trucks. In total, 15 live bands will be performing during the evening. The bands will be local and regional groups who are competing to get the most wooden nickels (provided by organizers) from the crowd. The band who receives the most will receive a yet-to-be-announced prize. In previous years, prizes have included studio time and a vinyl pressing of an album.
Artists to have performed in Buskerfests gone by include Sawtooth, Dublin Public, The Ziggins, and Bearcoon. There will also be food trucks and a beer garden for those aged 21 and over.
This will be a great opportunity for Long Beach area musicians. To ensure as many people know about the festival as possible, a local Print company may be asked to provide Posters or Flyers.
Buskerfest will take place on 1st Street in the East Village Arts District on September 5 from 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Admission is free. Visit the Summer and Music official website or the Facebook page for more information about the festival.
