Festival brings New Orleans to Long Beach
The Long Beach Crawfish Festival is taking place for three days next month.
The main draw, of course, is the little crawfish. Guests will be able to purchase pounds of them in buckets. There will also be other New Orleans-inspired cuisine available for purchase. However, the festival offers more than this.
Guests will be entertained by zydeco and Cajun bands such as the Mudbug Brass Band, CZ and the Bon Vivants, and the Bayou Brothers. There will also be a Second Line Dancing Parade, dance lessons, a sports tent, and bounce houses for the kids.
The festival will kick off with the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. Guests will enjoy musical entertainment, a DJ, souvenir photographs, and a costume contest for which all guests must wear a mask.
Other activities include a karaoke lounge, beer and wine gardens with themed cocktails, and a children’s stage. Food, merchandise, and arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand.
Organizers of events like this Long Beach festival will often invest in postcard printing services. The cards can then be mailed out to residents of the city.
The Long Beach Crawfish Festival will be held at Rainbow Lagoon Park from August 5 to 7. General admission is $13 and VIP is $50. Tickets for the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball are $6. Buckets of crawfish start at $17 each. Call 562-495-5959 for more information.
