Family concert set for Long Beach
An upcoming concert in Long Beach is sure to be fun for the whole family, hopefully after COVID-19 concerns have started to subside.
The Long Beach Symphony Orchestra is presenting its third annual Family Concert. This year, the theme of the event is all about everything under the sea. Families will have the opportunity to take part in interactive musical activities, dancing, conducting, sing-alongs, and the concert itself. Eckart Preu, the music director of the orchestra, will be on the podium. Poster printing is often used to advertise events such as this.
Maestro Preu has been with the orchestra since 2017, and currently also is Music Director of the Portland, Maine, Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. He is known for his creative programs, which combine familiar classical works with newer compositions.
The concert is made possible by the support of the RuMBa Foundation of Long Beach, a local nonprofit organization that aims to increase access to the arts for children in the Long Beach Unified School District. RuMBa sometimes covers the expense of transporting students to arts events away from school, or giving a grant to a school for art supplies.
Currently, the Symphony Under the Sea concert is set for May 31, at 3:00 pm, at the Terrace Theater at Long Beach Convention Center. Interested parties should check with the venue closer to the date of the event.
