Event for better health comes to Long Beach
A community event called LIVE IT UP, Long Beach! will take place this March. The event is aimed at promoting health and well-being among the individuals that live in the city.
The event will educate attendees on ways to prevent diabetes, as well as improving their ability to access helpful resources. The goal is to foster and enhance healthy living. This event will also provide a platform from which the CBHN’s diabetes program will be launched. It will include a number of different activities that will help people to learn about ways to prevent and manage diabetes.
Activities will include individuals from the community cooking different foods, as well as workout sessions with experts. Music and dancing, diabetes screening, California Healthcare Plan enrollment, and vaccinations for COVID are just some of the other offerings on the agenda. Partnerships for this event include Black Health Equity and The Links Incorporated. The event also includes different sponsorship levels, and interested parties will be able to register for either of these on the event website.

The event has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 25. The fair will be held between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. It will be located at Houghton Park on 6310 Myrtle Avenue, Long Beach, California.
