What's Happening in Long Beach, CA…

Big chill continues in Long Beach

The Queen Mary Chill is running until next month in Long Beach.

The dome at which the Spruce Goose once lived has been turned into a giant igloo and the Ice Kingdom, for which the theme is ‘A Christmas Carol’. It consists of 14,000 square feet and two million pounds of ice were used.

Inside the dome, there are opportunities for ice skating and live music. One of the popular attractions will no doubt be the bar made completely of ice. Entertainment will be provided by holiday carolers and there are live shows on the Holly Grove and Igloo stages. There is also a giant rocking horse, an enchanted garden and hedge maze, and an ice slide. Guests can enjoy polar paintball and the swinging sleigh ride, and they can also visit the North Pole Village or get their pictures taken with Santa at Claus Cottage.

For those who want to have the VIP treatment, cabanas are available for $99. They can seat 10 people. To attract Long Beach residents to this unique festival, organizers may have worked with local printing companies to create advertising materials.

The Queen Mary Chill is taking place at the Queen Mary Event Park until January 3 and then from January 7 to 10. Tickets are $34.99 for adults and $24.99 for children. Call 877-342-0738 to find our more.
