At Home, a store dedicated to home décor, recently held a soft opening in Lake Forest.
The superstore is 85,000 square feet in size and will sell over 50,000 products, many of which have no brand names. There are various styles of décor, including farmhouse/rustic, traditional, contemporary, and modern, among others. CEO Lewis Lee Bird said that Orange County is ideal for launching such a store as it will become the price leader in the home décor industry.
A representative from the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce said that this store is bringing not only a new shopping experience to the area of South Orange County but many jobs as well. As the first such store in California, 100 new jobs were created in the area as a result of opening the store. Often, many of such jobs require business card printing to help promote and advertise the store.
CEO of the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce, Mary Visconte, added that employees from the area were hired for the new jobs so they will require little commuting. She expressed her excitement about the store’s opening in the city.
The chain is based in Texas and plans to open 80 stores in total in California once expansion has been completed in the state. By the end of 2019, the chain plans to open stores in Temecula, Riverside, and Long Beach in Southern California.
