The first stand-alone gas station offered by Costco will be coming to Mission Viejo this summer. Members of the wholesale giant who live in nearby Lake Forest might be interested in this offering.
It will be at 25732 El Paseo on what was one the location of a Bed Bath & Beyond. The demolition of this establishment was approved by officials from the city last year to make way for the new gas station. Neighbors of the gas station are Dairy Queen Chil & Grill, Krispy Kreme, and Jack in the Box.
Such sites often turn to banner printing to inform residents of upcoming projects and their benefits for the community.
This will be the largest gas station of the chain with 20 fueling dispensers that will provide 40 pumps. The gas station itself will span 17,234 square feet and its fueling canopy will also include a breakdown building for employees and an accessory office.
This project is significant for the discount retail chain as the gas stations at its existing locations often face crowded parking lots, heavy traffic, and long waiting times. Costco is planning to open a second gas station of this type in Hawaii in 2027.
Expected to open in June, the hours of the gas station will be from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm every day.
