Taekwondo classes to pack a local punch

Global 8 will be holding one of its ‘Fitness and Taekwondo Camps’ in Rancho Santa Margarita, when it calls in at St. John’s School later this summer.

Lake Forest parents who have considered taekwondo for their children may find this camp a good way to introduce the sport to their youngster and determine if the activity is a good fit.

At the camp, Olympic and world championship athletes instruct campers in activities designed to increase their agility energy and flexibility. In addition to learning the benefits of exercise, children will also receive guidance on making healthy diet and lifestyle choices, all while having fun.

The Fitness Camp, which requires no taekwondo experience even though the sport is a part of every day's activities, is open to campers from the ages 7 to 18. The camp lasts four days with the last day including lunch and an awards ceremony at which pictures can be taken with the Global 8 athletes.

Local taekwondo instructors, working with a flyer printing service, could use this opportunity to pick up more students by increasing their advertising a couple of weeks prior to and just after the camp.

The Global 8 Fitness and Taekwondo Camps runs August 4 to 7 from 8:30 am till noon. More information can be found on the Global 8 website.
