In its ongoing quest to help residents in their jurisdiction, The Metropolitan Water District (MWD) of Southern California recently announced a fun and unique way for timing showers.
Lake Forest residents, as well as those throughout the area can tune, into the new ‘Water Lovers Station’ offered on Pandora. The station features 100 songs, each of which last five-minutes, the maximum length suggested for showering.
In addition to Pandora, the “Water Lovers Station” will also be available on the Uforia, a Spanish-language streaming-music service. As well as being the ideal length, the songs available on the “shower channel” also contain a water or rain theme.
According to Jeffrey Kightlinger, Southern California MWD’s general manager, people can choose a favorite song and aim to finish their shower before it ends. Additionally, the public can enjoy these tunes at work or while running errands, and be reminded of the importance of water conservation.
If it has not been already, this latest hint on water conservation will likely be added to the information supplied to brochure printers for inclusion in the MWD’s water conservation literature.
Access to the playlist requires searching the create-a-station box on Pandora for “Water Lovers Playlist”. The list contains old and new selections, and includes “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele, as well as old favorites like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”
