Prelude to concert series starts this month

Students from El Toro High School will once again be holding a free spring concert in Pittsford Park this month.

Prelude in the Park is a collaboration between the instrumental music and pageantry boosters of El Toro High School and The City of Lake Forest. Attendees can enjoy several of the school’s award-winning musical ensembles, such as its Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Winter Percussion & Color Guard.

Every year, the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council hosts a series of concerts in the park during July and August at various park locations throughout the two communities. As a prelude to this series, El Toro has held its own concert in the park during May. Money raised from this event goes to replace and repair instruments, pay entry fees for competitions and festivals, purchase sheet music, and other incidentals.

El Toro High School was established in 1973, and is the only public high school in Lake Forest, and has been honored as one of Southern California's best schools. To inform residents when fundraising events are planned, using a flyer printing service is a common choice.

The Prelude in the Park takes place on Sunday, May 18, from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm in Pittsford Park. Those who arrive should bring something to sit on such as a blanket or chair. Food will be available for a nominal fee.
