Mai Aly is the new registrar at Lake Forest College.

Tara Natarajan, Krebs Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, said that Aly has been praised for her critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities, as well as her knowledge of compliance and policy issues, her ability to communicate with faculty and staff, and her excellent work ethic.

Aly expressed her excitement about joining the community of Lake Forest College, noting that it is the top in the country for social mobility and one of the best liberal arts colleges, known for its academic excellence and balancing the relationships between career preparation and the liberal arts. She added that she is passionate about maintaining a work environment of the highest standards to provide an optimal experience for students. Aly has over 12 years of experience ins student services in higher education. She has been the Registrar for Wilbur Wright College in Chicago and has also worked at Northwestern University and Rush University. Her bachelor’s degree in economics is from Cairo University in Egypt and her master’s degree is from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a focus on leadership and education policy.
