The OC Rescue Mission will be converting the site at St. Michael’s Abbey of El Toro Road in Lake Forest into the Double R Ranch.
The mission has had a ranch in Warner Springs for the past 20 years, which it is planning to sell. Its operations will be moved to the new facility in Lake Forest.
Guests of the Double R Ranch will be invited. It will be an educational and safe space for those who need to heal, learn, and start a new life using animal and farming husbandry. Men, women, and children will be able to take advantage of the facilities although there will be an emphasis on veterans and their families. Such new facilities often turn to Stationery printers as Brochures, Flyers, Letterheads, and other printed materials need to reflect a new location.
President and CEO of the OC Rescue Mission, Jim Palmer, said that the expectation is to raise horses, goats, turkeys, and chickens, and to farm the land. He said that fruit trees will be planted in the future to fill the hillside and beautify the community. There have been tractors on the property as part of plans for wildfire mitigation to defend the property from wildfires. There have been upgrades to the main fire road to support the access of the fire department to all parts of the property.
