The Orange County Fire Authority now has a new chief – Brian Fennessy.
The Authority covers many of the largest cities in the County, including Lake Forest, Irvine, and San Clemente, as well as all of its unincorporated areas.
Fennessy is leaving the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department as its chief, where his last day will be Friday, April 13. Fennessy is replacing interim fire chief Patrick McIntosh, who assumed the post in August after chief Jeff Bowman resigned somewhat abruptly.
Mayor of San Diego, Kevin Faulconer, selected Fennessy in early September 2015 to replace Javier Mainar, who was retiring. Previously, Fennessy had been serving in the department as an assistant chief.
Fennessy worked for the United Stated States Forest service and joined the San Diego Fire- Department in 1990. When the he joined the department, he oversaw emergency operations at all fire stations in the city and helped to strengthen the helicopter firefighting capabilities of the department. Overall, he has over 40 years of experience in firefighting.
Various types of printing services can be used to create Flyers, posters, and other types of printed materials that can be displayed at fire stations throughout the County so that the community is aware of such a change, as well as the benefits they can expect from the hiring of a permanent department head.
