The Old Vine Café is re-opening at The Camp in Costa Mesa as Old Vine Kitchen & Bar. Those from nearby Lake Forest will most likely want to try out this restaurant known for its authentic Italian food, wine, and atmosphere.
The restaurant will be located in what was once the Ecco Pizzeria and Bar. There will still be the intimate dining setting of the Old Vine Café but new to the space will be a living room-type lounge area, a full bar, and a large enclosed outdoor patio. Artwork commissioned from Mark Gerardi, a designer from Orange County, separates the spaces between the dining room and bar.
Mark McDonald, who has been the chef and proprietor of the restaurant for almost 12 years, said that he has built a loyal customer base and will remain committed to quality products and regional cuisine and will continue to host trips twice a year to Italy and community wine dinners.
New to the restaurant will be managing partner and co-owner Kate Perry who is looking to grow the concept of the Old Vine and help to integrate a bar program into the menu.
