Mazen El Kamash has been promoted to Head Coach of the Swim Team, an aquatics club that meets throughout the year and is based in Lake Forest. El Kamash is a dedicated coach and has been a swimmer at the international level for many years.

El Kamash began swimming at the Alexandria Sporting Club in Egypt at the age of seven. After earning an American Diploma from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in 2013, he attended Grand Canyon University where in 2016 he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance and in 2018 an MBA but also significantly contributed to the swim team of the university for five years.
After college, El Kamash qualified for the World Junior Championships in 2013, won silver and gold medals at the All-African Games in 2015, and reached the final at the Doha World Cup in 2016, where he set national records for Egypt in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Executive Director of The Swim Team, Tim Teeter, expressed excitement on behalf of the leadership of the Swim Team about this appointment. Teeter added that El Kamash has an exceptional athletic background, and his diverse coaching experience will make him the ideal person to lead the group of talented swimmers.
