Lake Forest manufacturer undertakes new green energy initiative

Dynacast Lake Forest recently announced that it has teamed up with a major battery company in order to lower its annual energy consumption by over 6%.

The company, which manufactures precision-engineered metal components, will be installing five state-of-the-art power pack batteries. These 200 kW-modular battery blocks will serve as generators so that, during peak hours, Dynacast can have better control of their consumption of energy. Each battery will be able to scale to the power, space and energy requirements of their plant in Lake Forest, which is 115,000 square feet in size.

There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony held for this announcement, which was held last week, where there were representatives from the battery company as well as customers and suppliers of Dynacast and the Lake Forest Mayor Pro-Tem.

According to General Manager of Dynacast Lake Forest, Thinh Pho, the company has several philosophies, which include developing manufacturing skills, investing in its employees, and providing high-quality components for its customers while being attentive to the environment. The facility in Lake Forest already has large ambient skylights, has installed LED lighting, and has undertaken many other initiatives with regard to energy conservation in addition to the new system of batteries.

Dynacast Lake Forest may be looking to a local printing company to create various informative materials that outline its various green business practices.
