Ring is partnering with the City of Lake Forest to provide rebates and discounts for residents who purchase certain security devices for their homes.
The company designs, engineers, and sells smart-home security services and devices to help reduce crime in communities.
Residents of the city will be able to receive a discount of up to $100 after it has been verified they live in a Neighborhood Watch area and are given a code by Ring. The Lake Forest City Council approved the expenditure of $5,000 to enable a maximum of 100 residents to participate in the program. The discount is being given out on a first come, first served basis.
Ring provides $50 of the credit and the city provides the other $50 as long as residents purchase one of Ring’s approved products. There is an additional option of a $50 rebate for residents who purchase security camera products from other companies. Flyer printing is a way for residents to be informed of such offers and their benefits for the home and the community.
The Chief of Police in Lake Forest, Lieutenant Brad Valentine, said that this encouragement for residents to purchase home security devices will help the city. He notes that it adds another layer of safety for residents and warns potential criminals about the consequences of breaking the law.
