Lake Forest company to be purchased by East Coast firm

Tenex Health, based in Lake Forest, has been acquired by a medical device company from Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Trice Medical made the purchase to expand the products it offers. Announcements of such acquisitions are often made known throughout an industry, with Flyers created by many kinds of printing services. Tenex Health develops ultrasonic technology that is minimally invasive and treats chronic pain in bone and soft tissue.

Mark Foster, CEO of Trice, said that the acquisition will enable his company to add the innovative and effective technology of Tenex to its portfolio of products, allowing the two privately held companies to grow and thrive. He added that many spine and large-joint procedures are currently taking place in hospital surgery rooms, and that the technology of products from Tenex will enable his company to transition many of those procedures out of hospitals and save on the costs of operating rooms, hospital staff, and infrastructure.

As most of the procedures that use products from Tenex are performed with ultrasound imaging, Trice’s acquisition of the company will enhance the portable imaging system technology offered by Trice. CEO of Tenex, Chuck Grant, said that his company has been looking for a partner for several years and believes that Trice will help to increase the potential of its product offerings.
