The Thundering Mustangs Marching Unit of Trabuco Hills High School (THHS) in Mission Viejo will be traveling to New York City in November to take part in the Macy’s 94th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. A fundraiser is currently underway to support the unit.
As the cost is expected to be close to $2,000 per band member, funds raised are sure to come in handy. Banner printing is often used to support such efforts so that more people throughout the area can learn about such fundraising goals. Residents of Lake Forest will want to help with these efforts as this is an honor for any high school band.
A spokesperson from the fundraising committee, Amy Vivona, said that it is important that every member of the band gets the opportunity to participate in the parade. The state of California will be represented by the members of the Trabuco Hills High School Marching Band, which is the first band from California to be in the parade since 2015.
Wesley Whatley, the creative producer of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, said that that band has become one of the highest-quality units in the state and had consistently delivered theatrical and exciting performances upon every appearance on the marching field.
Vivona said that those looking to make donations can do so on a one-time or a monthly basis.
