Eatery with a tropical twist comes to Lake Forest

The first restaurant in California of Tropical Smoothie Café will be opening in Lake Forest by the middle of the month.

Tropical Smoothie Café is a casual eatery known for its healthy food and smoothies that have a tropical flavor.

According to the CEO of Tropical Smoothie Café, Mike Rotondo, the type of food items the eatery has to offer are a good fit with the lifestyle of Californians, and he is confident that people will like what is offered. There are plans to open other such cafes in Irvine, Rancho Cucamonga, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Orange, among other locations.

A new menu will be featured in the Lake Forest café with salads, bowls, toasted wraps and flatbreads, a menu for children and smoothies. Ingredients such as kale, spinach, acai, avocado, and pomegranate are part of the Superfood Smoothies.

Owner of the restaurant, RanaKaran “R.K.” Sidhu, originally attended medical school but his passion was in hospitality and real estate management, and he joined his family's business developing Marriott and Hilton properties across three states.

He is planning a grand opening event on January 29 from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm where complimentary smoothies will be offered in exchange for selfies of guest with a smoothie shared on their favorite social media site. Openings like this often use banners on the site of the restaurant to herald their arrival.
