Things appear a little brighter for those struggling financially in the area serviced by the South County Food Bank, thanks to a grant.
A variety of communities benefit from South County Outreach, including Lake Forest. Now following receipt of $10,000, it will be better able to accomplish its mission.
The grant, which was provided by the S. Mark Taper Foundation, will help South County assist those who find themselves struggling to feed themselves and their families.
South County relies primarily on donations of food from individuals and from organizations that hold food drives. The grant money will permit South County to augment those donations with fresh meat, dairy items, and fresh produce.
The grant money means that throughout 2015 the organization’s food pantry will be adequately stocked with items that are important from a nutritional standpoint, but have a short shelf life.
Lake Forest is just one of the 13 communities that South County Outreach serves. Those who qualify are permitted one visit a month and provided a week’s worth of food. Residents of Lake Forest and the surrounding area have numerous agencies and organizations to which they can turn for help. With the help of Print companies, those offering assistance are able to ensure that those needing help are able to find it.Get a Free Quote for Print
