California hospital golf tournament raises money for cancer

The annual Golf Classic of Mission Hospital, recently held at Pelican Hill Golf Club, garnered close to $300,000 towards supporting the development of the Judi and Bill Leonard Institute for Cancer Prevention, Treatment and Wellness at the hospital.

The golf club, located in Laguna Beach, is sufficiently close to Lake Forest, that interested local golfers most likely participated in this worthwhile event.

The tournament is sponsored by Ira Hermann of Capstone Partners Financial and Audi Mission Viejo, INFINITI of Mission Viejo, and Volvo Cars Mission Viejo. Other sponsors of the event included Snyder Langston and Welltower, Inc., Robert and Carol Summers Family Trust, and Diversified Thermal Services, Inc.

A highlight of the tournament was the raffle drawing of a new Volvo, INFINITI, or Audi, which was won by Don Leiblein, who has been employed by Mission Hospital for many years. There were other raffle prizes and live and silent auction items, including an escape to Laguna Beach at the Surf & Sand Resort, and a mountain getaway to Beaver Creek.

Buffalo Wild Wings, Hanna's Restaurant & Bar, Tosi Superbites, and Travis Mathews provided food and treats for golfers on the course. Refreshments were donated by Lagunitas Brewing Company, Ketel One Citroen Lemonade, MillerCoors, and Breaker Bourbon.

Banner printing companies can be hired to create displays in the communities in the area so that people learn more about such fundraising efforts and achievements.
