The Fair Housing Foundation will host the Downey Fair Housing Workshop next month to shed light on a range of issues related to federal and state housing laws, guidelines, and standards.
The Foundation is an organization that promotes equal access to housing and serves communities in Orange County and Los Angeles. It provides vulnerable populations with access to services such as help navigating housing discrimination, counseling for landlord and tenant disputes, rental counseling, and educational programs. Other resources offered include a COVID-19 Rent Relief Program and other locally based rental assistance programs.
The workshop in March is designed for a variety of people involved in housing, including tenants, property owners, landlords, attorneys, and real estate management companies. Attendees will be briefed on topics such as the rental application process, the eviction process, modifications and accommodations, rent increases, habitability and repairs, occupancy standards, and general guidelines.
Workshops that benefit the public in some way are often advertised by flyer printing methods in which the organizers utilize local printing services at their disposal to create a bulk supply of Flyers to hang in community areas.
The Downey Fair Housing Workshop is scheduled for March 2 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. It will take place at the Downey Library, located on 11121 Brookshire Ave. The workshop is free to the public.
