Downey group sponsors event supporting women in business

A one-day conference centered on female businesspeople is returning to Downey in March to support those local leaders and help them overcome the unique obstacles they sometimes face.

The Downey Chamber of Commerce has announced the Women’s Empowerment 2026 conference, to be held the third week of March. This year’s theme is “Kentucky Derby Afternoon Tea," with a program centered on connection and inspiration. Business owners have an opportunity to sponsor the event, with several levels available. Sponsorship benefits include the opportunity to address attendees, a complimentary booth, eight admission passes, and placement of a half-page flyer in the official program. Poster printing and other services from Print shops help draw attention at conferences.

The Chamber was formed in 1903 and has therefore supported business leaders, helped connect their companies, and provided opportunities for growth in the area for over 120 years. Today, the non-profit boasts over 300 members, with over 25 years of combined staff experience.

The Women’s Empowerment 2026 conference will be held on Friday, March 20 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The venue location is the Rio Hondo Golf Club, located at 10627 Old River School Road in Downey. Check-in begins at 9:00 AM. Event admission is $70, which includes lunch, a special presentation, and an opportunity to network with others. More information is available on the Downey Chamber of Commerce website.
