An event planned with Clovis’s carnivores in mind will soon crown the local Barbecue champ, and area pit masters and weekend bbq warriors are welcome to show off their skills.
The Grill Masters BBQ competition will be a tailgate style throwdown, and this will be its 5th year. Even if they are not competing, the public is encouraged to come by and cheer them on, and there are different categories set for the day.
The grillers will be preparing chicken, beef and ribs, and along with this, there will be live entertainment provided by a DJ. The kids can have their faces painted and watch the balloon twisters, and there will be raffle draws for Promotional Products and other prizes. Everyone can purchase their favorite bbq foods to enjoy onsite, and beer and wine will also be on the menu. A special salute to veterans will be included.
The fee to enter the competition as a BBQ chef is $250.00, and various cash prizes, including a People’s Choice, will be awarded. Organizers may choose to order custom designed trophies and other Corporate Gifts to use as prizes in a contest, and they can be ordered from a local printer.
The 5th annual Clovis Tailgate Throwdown will be serving up excitement on November 8th. The fun will run from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Clovis Elks Lodge.
