What's Happening in Clovis, CA…

Clovis fundraiser supports companion animals

A Clovis organization that cares for companion animals in need has put out a call to the community, asking locals to hit the road in support of their charges.

Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center will once again be holding its Fast and Furriest 5k/2-mile run and walk. Everyone, whether they plan on walking, jogging, running, or rolling their way along in a wheelchair or other mobility device is welcome to join the fun.

The activity is intended to be a fun occasion, but chip timing will be available for anyone who would like to challenge themselves. The walk will be open to adults, kids, and pets, and a virtual attendance option is on offer for anyone who would like to participate from their home area. It will be taking place on The Clovis Trail, and the staging area can be accessed at the 120 N. Clovis Parking Area.

As with many fundraisers that involve a run or walk, the participants will receive corporate gifts to thank them, inducing a fisher’s medal and shirt. The registration process must be completed by Sunday, March 1 to be guaranteed a shirt size.

The companion animals at Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center will be benefiting from this walking and running fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, April 18. Further information is available on the City of Clovis website.
