Many parts of California do not receive a lot of precipitation, so a workshop planned for the Chino area will introduce ways gardeners can adapt to these conditions.
The Waterwise Community Center, which is located in Montclair, will offer the public an introduction to the wealth of choices open to them when it comes to selecting plants that do not require a lot of water. It will introduce some of the basics of xeriscaping, and it is free to get involved.
Those who attend the function will take a tour of the site’s demonstration garden, and they can learn how they can create a beautiful home planting that is also water wise. Plant and cultivar selection will be discussed as will choosing where to install them, and both pre and post planting care are also on the agenda. They will learn how choosing healthy specimens will often result in a thriving garden, and everyone can ask any question they have.
Home horticulture is a hobby enjoyed by many, and attending a workshop can help those who participate to add to their gardening skills. Plant-care tip sheets and other learning materials for a class or other activity can be sourced from area brochure printing companies.
This chance for Chino residents to discover how easy it can be to go water wise will be on offer on January 14. The venue can be found at 4594 San Bernardino Street Montclair.
