Early industries
The rich soil of the Chino Valley made the area an agricultural center for over 60 years, from the 1890s to the middle of the 20th century. Among the crops commonly planted here were strawberries, tomatoes, walnuts, peaches, and sweet corn, though the most important crop was sugar beets. For the decades from the 1950s to the 1980s, dairies opened, making Chino the biggest milk-producing city in California, which produces more milk than any other state. The Hollywood connection and growth
In the 1960s, Chino had a rural, pastoral “feel” that brought film crews to the town to shoot projects that were supposedly set in the Midwest. What to do in Chino

There are also two museums at the airport, the Yank Air Museum, and Planes of Fame. Many of the aircraft at the Yank Air Museum are still airworthy.
