Gilbert homeowners attend landscape workshops

Southeast Regional Library is offering a series called Spring 2020 Residential Landscape Workshops featuring water in landscaping in March. The four workshops will be from 6:30 to 9:00 pm on Thursday evenings.

The first one, on March 5, will deal with Sprinkler Design and Installation. Attendees will learn the tricks to replacing old systems, designing new ones and installing efficient ones in a professional manner. Some aspects to be discussed will be backflow preventers, spray heads, proper pipe sizes, and efficient sprinkler head placement.

The workshop on the following Thursday, March 12, will discuss Landscape Watering. This session will teach attendees how to use their irrigation controllers and how to properly water grass and plants in their yards. Actual controllers will be available in class for attendees to practice using.

March 19 will be an evening of Troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems. Students will learn how to locate and repair problems for bubblers, drips, and sprinklers.

The topic for the final workshop on March 26 will be Improving Irrigation System Performance. Since poor design and installation are often the reasons for inefficient system performance, this one will show how simply making a few adjustments to existing systems can eliminate the need to replace a problematic unit.

Guests that attend workshops like these usually ask the instructors for their Business Cards to get in touch with them for advice later.

The free workshops will be held at the Southeast Regional Library Assembly Room, 775 N. Greenfield Road. Registration is required.
