A St. Patrick's Day fun run and a parade have been scheduled for the Gilbert area in mid-March.
Many here in Gilbert will be heading to the 43rd Phoenix St. Patrick's Day Parade and Faire.
Irish step-dancers, pipe and drum bands, floats, Irish heritage societies and clubs, youth organizations, themed vehicles, mascots, and costumed performers will be stepping off at Oak and 3rd streets in Downtown Phoenix at 10:00 am.
The parade route will end at Margaret T. Hance Park at the family-oriented Irish Faire. There guests will be treated to Irish step dancing, live Irish music including bagpipes, a kids' zone, cultural exhibits, community booths and Irish clubs.
The 43rd Phoenix St. Patrick's Day Parade and Faire will take place Saturday, March 14th in Phoenix.
Gilbert runners are invited to the St. Patrick's Day Fun Run for an afternoon of not-so-serious competition.
Registration will be $20.
A full cash bar, complimentary hot dogs and green beer will be waiting at the finish line.
Organizers of events like this often get some banner printing, complete with colors and images of the event theme, to place one large or several smaller festive Banners at the finish line.
The St. Patrick's Day Fun Run will take place at the Sports Club at Seville Golf And Country Club, 6683 South Clubhouse Drive, Saturday, March 14th. Check-in will begin at 3:30 pm and the race will start at 4:00 pm. The event will wind down around 7:30 pm.
