The painting has been applied to a wall located on Lady Lane and depicts three young children playing happily in the street. The artist behind the mural goes by the name of DEV and it is just the latest in a series of such street artworks that have been added to walls and other surfaces in Paisley over the past few years.
Indeed, according to the Daily Record, DEV has stated that finding an available surface to use for the artwork was difficult, until he stumbled across a wall that was still blank at JHC Interiors. Print shops can be used to produce souvenir Posters and Postcards of artworks like this.
DEV – whose real name is Shaun Devenney - also stated that the idea for the mural came from an old monochrome photograph and that he wanted to create something with appeal for everyone living in Paisley, adding:
“The image can mean a lot of things to different people. I thought I’d transform it into colour and, from there, I just worked out the composition and just did it.”
