Plans for a number of enhancements to one of Paisley’s most historic buildings have been submitted to Renfrewshire Council.
This application is internal, from one department of the local authority to another. The building at the heart of it is the Back Sneddon Centre, which is located in the street of the same name. The facilities team at Renfrewshire Council is hoping to get the go ahead for a range of renovations and enhancements. They would include the installation of new lights, decorations and Signs, as well as re-finishing the floor surfaces.
Other amenities at the centre would also be upgraded, with the circulation spaces, staff stairs and entrance to the car park all lined up for improvements. The Back Sneddon Centre is home to various council services.

The building holds B-listed status, so listed building consent is needed alongside planning permission before any work can begin. Thomas Graham Abercrombie designed the building, and it is considered a town landmark. It is thought to have been constructed in 1898, and is close to other key services such as Gilmour Street Station and Paisley Sheriff Court.
