The official name of them is the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, but they are often referred to as either the Folk Oscars or Na Trads. This year will be the first occasion that the ceremony has been held in Paisley for almost a decade. The venue for it will be Paisley Arena, which is in the Lagoon Leisure Centre on Christie Street.
Simon Thoumire is the man behind these awards. He spoke to the Renfrewshire Gazette about the choice of location:
“Paisley is a powerhouse of cultural creativity, so we’re hugely excited to be taking the Trad Awards back to the town this year.”
The organisers of events like this need to promote them in the local area, so they get a good turn-out. Paisley has Print shops that can supply themed Promotional Products for giving away to people.
Thoumire went on to say that the awards provide a chance for the stars of the traditional music scene in Scotland to get together and celebrate the best work.
He added that this scene is a major cultural jewel for the country that more people need to know about. Thoumire concluded by saying that they want as many fans as possible to attend.
It will be held on 5 December.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Print
