Paisley charity up for major award

A Paisley charity that gives young people a chance to break into the hairdressing sector has made it onto a national award shortlist.

Haus of Seisay was launched four years ago and is the brainchild of Tony and Thomas Seisay. It offers free training and mentoring for those who are keen to get started in hairdressing, and now those efforts could be recognised. The organisation is in contention at this year’s Official UK Hair and Beauty Awards. The category it is on the shortlist for is the ‘Education Excellence Award.’

The support offered by Haus of Seisay is specifically targeted at youngsters who have grown up in care. The founders saw that they face greater challenges when it comes to their careers and wanted to set up something to help them.

Local charities need to get the word out about the services they offer. One way of doing so is through the use of promotional Pens created by Print shops in Paisley.

Thomas Seisay spoke to the Renfrewshire Gazette about the nomination:
“We are incredibly proud to be shortlisted on a national stage. Coming from Ayrshire and building Haus of Seisay from the ground up, this recognition means so much to us.”

The hairdressing training and experience provided by Haus of Seisay is open to youngsters from Renfrewshire, Glasgow and Ayrshire.

The awards ceremony takes place later in the year.
