Paisley to welcome traditional music event

A brand-new event that is dedicated to traditional Scottish music will be taking place in Paisley this spring, after the west coast lost its other big festival.

Up until this year, The Reeling was the go-to event for fans of traditional music in the west of Scotland. This major festival has now relocated to the other side of the country though, with Edinburgh its new home. However, there is good news for those in western Scotland, because a replacement is being launched in Paisley. This will be called the May Feis Weekend and is the creation of arts charity Feis Phaislig.

It is scheduled to run for three days and will be open to people of all ages. Feis Phaislig is stating that the festival will feature live traditional music performances, but also intimate sessions and workshops. These will let people learn more about Scottish music and how to play its national instruments.

When it comes to advertising upcoming local events, Flyers can be an efficient method. Paisley has shops that offer flyer printing, so it is easily available.

The main event of this festival will be a concert by Sian, a vocal harmony trio who sing in Gaelic. This will take place at Paisley Arts Centre, which has just reopened after major renovation works.

The May Feis Weekend is scheduled to be held between the 8 and 10 May.
